Welcome to the Certified Data Vault Data Modeller – CDVDM seminar. Now in its fourth year in Brisbane!

This course will guide you through the Data Vault modelling approach from modelling constructs and patterns to applying data vault principles in your DWBI program. This course
covers also loading paradigms, architectures, and how to develop an effective overall data vault data warehouse program. Since data vault may be new for many of you, this course also includes a summary of the benefits of using data vault techniques.

Who Should Attend?

The target audience for this course includes data warehousing and business intelligence professionals, data modellers, data architects, model managers, data warehouse DBAs, data scientists, and ETL professionals. Because data vault modelling concepts are closely aligned with the business aspects of DWBI programs our target audience also includes program managers, business analysts, information modellers, information architects, and other BICC professionals.

CDVDM Course Structure

The CDVDM course is a three (3) day intensive classroom based course. The course consists of five core components plus the certification exam. The classroom time is

40% Classroom Lecture, 30% Small Group Exercises and 30% Interactive Discussions.

Requirements and Prerequisites

This course does not require a computer or other device. Students should be prepared to take notes. All materials, work books, case books and exercises will be provided. There are no pre-requisites for this course. It is helpful if you bring any specific topics that you are interested in concerning data vault. It can also be useful if you have the time for web research on the topic prior to class. This course is includes two weeks of online on-demand video lectures and labs delivered on DataVaultAcademy.com. All course materials, labs, exercises, and online lessons are included in the course registration.

The instructor

Scot Reagin

Scot has been teaching for Genesee Academy for over a year. Scot Reagin’s technology career spans the entire history of what we now think of as Business Intelligence. Starting with software he developed for mini-computers in the early 1980’s to the first Cube technologies of the 1990’s and Self-Service BI and contemporary Predictive Analytics Scot has consistently designed, developed, and delivered solutions for organizations across the evolving BI marketplace.

Scot is a Certified Data Vault Data Modeler, a TDWI Certified Business Intelligence Professional, and Board Member of the Colorado Data Warehouse Institute.

Throughout his career Scot has had a passion for straightforward problem solving which has been the basis for his many robust and reliable solution designs. He is a thought leader but also a pragmatist, allowing him to build solutions that provide value today while positioning for tomorrow.

Prior to co-founding Sensible Data Integrations Scot was a Director and Principal Business Intelligence Architect for RevGen Partners; founder and Principal Architect of SJ Reagin & Associates; and National General Manager and Senior BI Solutions Architect for Aspirity LLC (later acquired by Hitachi Consulting where he held the title of Senior BI Architect).

In addition to Consulting Scot has created and delivered public and private courseware on a wide range of BI topics and his ability to clarify the technical aspects of a solution to business value have made him a popular speaker at business and technical conferences.
